Research teaches a man to admit he is wrong and to be proud of the fact that he does so rather than try with all his energy to defend an unsound plan because he is afraid that admission of error is a confession of weakness when rather it is a sign of strength.
Basic research may seem very expensive. I am a well-paid scientist. My hourly wage is equal to that of a plumber but sometimes my research remains barren of results for weeks months or years and my conscience begins to bother me for wasting the taxpayers money. But in reviewing my lifes work I have to think that the expense was not wasted. Basic research to which we owe everything is relatively very cheap when compared with other outlays of modern society. The other day I made a rough calculation which led me to the conclusion that if one were to add up all the money ever spent by man on basic research one would find it to be just about equal to the money spent by the Pentagon this past year.
Theres a lot of research behind the scenes that you dont get to see but I have an instinct that my dad nurtured from when I was born. I was very lucky then.
Research is what Im doing when I dont know what Im doing.
The research rat of the future allows experimentation without manipulation of the real world. This is the cutting edge of modeling technology.
Research is the process of going up alleys to see if they are blind.
If we keep doing what were doing were going to keep getting what were getting
If we knew what it was we were doing it would not be called research would it?
If I knew what the meaning of art was I wouldnt tell you.
You will find it a very good practice always to verify your references sir.

The outcome of any serious research can only be to make two questions grow where only one grew before.
